Description

Who we are

Child and Young People's Mental Health Services - sometimes known as CAMHS - support children and young people up to age 18 with their emotional and mental health and wellbeing.

When we talk about your mental health, we mean how you feel and how you cope with the things going on in your life. This could be connected to anything from school, your friends or even your family life. If you feel you aren’t coping too well with the ups and downs of life, it may be that you need some support to help you manage them better.

If you do need help, we will work together with you and your family to decide what support you need to have good mental health and wellbeing. Our aim is to help young people get the support they need to tackle any problems early on before they get worse, and to act quickly if they do.

Children’s mental health teams

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, Warrington Council, local schools, school nurses, social services and other local organisations including Kooth and St Joseph’s Family Centre, all work closely together to provide services across Warrington, to make sure young people can access the right support, in the right place and at the right time.

If you have any questions or want to make a referral, you can call the team on 01925 575 904 between 9am and 5pm, from Monday to Friday.

We also accept referrals from GPs, school nurses or social workers. If you are a professional and would like to make a referral for a young person you are working with call 01925 575 904 (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday).

All referrals should be directed to our Assessment and Response Team. Download the referral form or call the advice line (from 9am to 5pm) on 01925 575 904.

We hold appointments at the Living Well Hub On Fridays.

Drop in

There is a drop in for young people aged 7 to 19 (up to 25 with SEND) who have challenges with emotional wellbeing.

Drop ins are seven days a week 3.30pm to 7.30pm at Warrington Youth Zone, Dallam Lane Warrington, WA2 7NG. No appointment or referral is needed.

Our key workers are here to listen, offer advice and guidance on a range of wellbeing projects and mental health services.

In a crisis?

You can contact the Crisis Response Team 24/7 by calling NHS 111 and selecting the mental health option 24 hours a day seven days a week. If you need immediate medical attention, you should visit your local A&E emergency department.

Children, young people and adults: For urgent mental health support, please call NHS 111 and select the mental health option.
