Burtonwood Crown Green Bowling Club was founded in 1987 and is located to the rear of Burtonwood Community Centre on Green Jones Brow, Burtonwood.
We are fortunate enough to have two greens which are maintained by a professional greenkeeper and by volunteers. Having two greens means we can have several teams and take part in the Warrington, Newton and St Helens leagues. The teams include four pensioners’ teams, four ladies’ teams and six men’s teams taking part in afternoon and evening games. We also have a Mixed Pairs team which belongs to the Sunday Warrington Mixed Pairs league.
Ages of our team members varies considerably ranging from 20 plus to over ninety thereby proving what a great game Crown Green bowling is and thus offering physical and mental stimulation besides allowing members to create friendships and avoid isolation.
The membership fees are very reasonable and include membership of the Community Centre, entitling you to take part in other activities.
The outdoor season begins in April through to September, after which people can join the indoor bowling sessions from September through to March.
